One third of the “Trio Grande” is gone.
Clark Gillies has passed away at the age of 67. Hardcore Islanders fans will remember him on the wing alongside “the other Trots” (and my all-time favorite hockey player) Bryan Trottier, and Mike Bossy as stalwarts of the New York Islanders 1979-1983 dynasty.
He was equally adept at putting the puck in the net as he was at smashing skulls.
RIP!
