RIP Joe E. Tata

“The Peach Pit” won’t be the same without its master and commander.

Joe E. Tata, who played the diner’s owner and “Beverly Hills 90210″ gang’s immensely likeable surrogate father Nat Bussichio, passed away after battling the insidious Alzheimer’s Disease for years.

My favorite story arc of his was when he saved cast Boy Scout Brandon Walsh from getting his legs broken by a bookie after incurring some out-of-control gambling debts in this Season 3 episode.
