A rare bright spot at a time when the New York Mets didn’t have many is gone.
Former Mets All-Star catcher John Stearns, who played on the Mets from 1975-1984, passed away after battling cancer for years.
He was a four-time All Star during a time when wins were hard to come by for the Amazins’ and retired right on the cusp of their classic years. He will be missed!
RIP!
