RIP Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt

Pro wrestling has lost a legend and a budding one.

Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt are gone: Funk at the age of 79 and Wyatt at the (far too young) age of 36.

What can I say about Funk that every hardcore wrestling legend he helped pave the way for hasn’t said already?! Nothing, and I won’t even try other than to say he was as revered as other legends with names like Flair, Race and Sammartino, not to mention hardcore legend (and proud LIer) Mick Foley, who called Funk a mentor as well as a friend.

Wyatt was an excellent example of a wrestler capable of turning chicken shit into chicken salad. It took a very creative talent to transform himself from a cookie cutter stable goon with the Nexxus into a multi-time world champion and one of the most unique characters wrestling has ever seen. Having The Undertaker pass the torch to you, I also believe, was a sign that he really was on the precipice of carving out a Hall of Fame career.

RIP
