April 1st, 2016 Guns N’ Roses announce that Slash and Duff McKagan are returning to the band for the “Not In This Lifetime Tour.” You can buy backstage passes at $2500 that include a tour, access to the “Paradise City Lounge” but no interaction with the band.

Today in 2008 Scott Weiland announces he is leaving Velvet Revolver. This of course, means the end of the band.

On this date in 2006, Spin magazine releases it’s reveiew of the Guns N’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy.” This is an album that Axl Rose has been working on with the group since the 1990’s. The review is actually an April Fool’s Day prank. The album doesn’t get released until November of 2008.

Today in 1985 David Lee Roth announces he is leaving Van Halen to pursue a solo career.

Rush release their classic “2112″ album on this date in 1976. Their record company, Mercury, wanted them to do something a little more radio friendly, but if you ask Rush fans, they will tell you very enthusiastically how much they love the album.
