Happy days when no lip-synching was allowed are here again!
“The Midnight Special”, which ran on Friday nights after Johnny Carson from 1972-1981, is back. The YouTube page is a goldmine of awesome clips from the likes of Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Linda Ronstadt, Rod Stewart and tons more. And if you remember, “The Midnight Special” did away with lip-synching on TV and had the artists actually play live.
Over time, I imagine it will be populated by a heck of a lineup of cleanup hitters including Led Zeppelin, AC/DC Aerosmith, Journey and KISS along with comedians like Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Richard Pryor and the “Babe Ruth of Standup”, George Carlin.
