Scott Fowler | Honoree for March 29th, 2024

Officer Scott Fowler was hired by the Suffolk County Police Department in September of 2015. He was assigned to the 4th Precinct, where he has stayed for the entirety of his employment. On October 1st, 2023, Officer Fowler, with Officers William Corwin and Robyn Cronin and Sergeants Gregory Jungen and Michael Rafferty, responded to assist a motorist outside the Fourth Precinct who had flagged down the Officers. The motorist stated he was driving his wife to Stony Brook Hospital but his wife had gone into labor. Officer Fowler noticed that the baby’s head was crowning and, with the assistance of the other officers, gave instructions and prepared for the imminent birth. Officer Fowler coached the mother through the birth, cleaned the airway of the baby, and help prepare the new family for transport to the hospital when the ambulance arrived a short time later. Officer Fowler and his fellow Officer’s calm under pressure ensured the safe and healthy delivery of a baby girl to a very happy and appreciative family.
