Shawn was nominated by Mara, his mom, who said “He works in the surgical ICU at NYU Langone Winthrop Hospital comforting patients in their most vulnerable and sometimes critical situations. He has an easy way about him and strives to always bring a smile to his patients faces. He is always available to assist the nursing staff whenever and wherever needed. Shawn plans to continue his education and earn a BS in nursing.″

Since this submission, Shawn has taken up a position at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital as an Emergency Department Technician.
