Thomas was nominated by his girlfriend Jessica Oberer who said, “I’d like to nominate my boyfriend Tom. He’s been a first responder since his early twenties. He’s a PARAMEDIC for the FDNY in queens as well as a volunteer Fireman /Paramedic for the North Bellmore fire department. Finally, he not only serves his community; but he also serves his country. He’s in the national guard. He’s a man who’s dedicated his entirety to helping others and I couldn’t be more proud to call him mine. Currently he’s assisting the correctional facilities in upstate NY due to the current strike. He’s a great asset to the community and I’m grateful for him every day. Thank you!”
