On April 28th and 30th 1978 Cheap Trick played Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan.

Being the band had found early success in the country they took the opportunity to record a live album at those shows.

The band played to 12,000 screaming fans who at times, nearly drowned out the band.

The album was initially released in Japan October 8th 1978.

It was supposed to be a Japan only release.

But after 30,000 imports were sold in the US that changed.
