A St. Petersburg man is under scrutiny after investigators say he made more than 16,000 calls to 911 over the past five years, many of them not emergencies.
Authorities say the flood of bogus calls wasted valuable resources, tied up emergency lines, and delayed help for people truly in need.Law enforcement officials are now warning the public about the consequences of abusing emergency services, as misuse can carry steep fines and even jail time.
