Wayne Resnick | Honoree for November 18th, 2022

Wayne was nominated by the Nassau County PBA, who said “Police Officer Wayne Resnick is a member of the Nassau County Police Department assigned to patrol in the Fourth Precinct. Police Officer Resnick became a member of the Police Department on January 4th 2008. PO Resnick has become a beloved member of the Fourth Precinct as well as the community he serves. He received numerous recognitions for his service to the residents of Nassau County.

In April of 2022, Wayne was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease, which was a tremendous blow to his wife, Patricia, and his 5 Children. The courage that Wayne and his family has displayed since this diagnosis is a testament to the cop/person we should all aspire to be. Wayne took the news, he thought only for taking care of his family, but Wayne also continued to return to work in whichever capacity he was able. Wayne always makes the officers around him smile with his uncanny sense of humor. There are a lot of acts that define bravery, especially being a Police Officer who is willing to lay down his life for others, but Wayne is truly defining bravery by the way he has met this disease head on. Wayne unfortunately is no longer able to continue working as the disease has advanced very rapidly. Wayne continues to amaze all of us with his continued bravery and his ability to always fight on. Police Officer Wayne Resnick is a true hero to Nassau County residents, his friends, all the Police Officers he works with, and most of all his Wife and Children.” There will be a benefit for Wayne at Mulcahy’s in Wantagh on Tuesday, November 22nd at 7pm.

Wayne, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a $100 gift card for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
