Say hello to Jay, a sweet and friendly 3 year old Shepherd. He is a handsome happy boy whose life has given him every reason not to be. Jay was dumped at a county shelter because neighbors kept complaining that he was on their property. He already was hit by a car and lost a leg! But the owners just kept letting him roam. When they got fed up, they dumped him. He deserves better! He needs a loving, patient home with someone that will spend time with him and shower him with TLC. Jay has so much love to give.

Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and have rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets.
