Gidget is a precious 1-year-old female Chihuahua mix who came to Save-A-Pet USA from a high-kill shelter, where she was at risk of losing her life simply because there weren’t enough homes for dogs like her.
Thankfully, Gidget made it safely to New York - and now we’re determined to find her the wonderful forever home she deserves!
This little girl is sweet, friendly, and absolutely adorable. She loves people and has such a happy, lovable personality. At just one year old, she has her whole life ahead of her and so much love to give.
Gidget is fully vetted and ready for a family of her very own. She deserves someone who will cherish her, keep her safe, and make sure she never again has to worry about what tomorrow will bring.

Save-A-Pet is a 501c3 no-kill shelter and has rescued and re-homed over 40,000 companion animals. We rely solely on donations. Save-A-Pet is located in the heart of Long Island in Port Jefferson Station. We have a low-cost vaccination and spay/neuter clinic. At Save-A-Pet’s Long Island animal shelter, we believe it is our moral responsibility to protect and improve the lives of abused, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, and to place them in loving permanent homes. We provide spay and neuter services for Long Island feral cats and any necessary medical care for pets.
