GATLINBURG, Tenn. — A bear wandered into a Tennessee restaurant Friday night before quickly leaving and meandering along a sidewalk out front.
An employee at Crawdaddy’s said the bear ran up the restaurant’s front staircase, entered the restaurant then turned around and left, WATE reported.
A woman visiting from South Carolina with her family was surprised to see the bear exit the restaurant while she was walking outside.
“Can you imagine sitting in the restaurant and a bear coming out,” Katie Faulling Myers said.
An ambulance was called to the area after the bear knocked over a person. The person’s condition is unclear.
Wildlife officials reminded people to be “bear aware” and that Gatlinburg is part of the animal’s natural habitat and roaming area, WATE reported.
