A car dealership gave Lashelle Roberson a 2016 Dodge minivan Friday complete with car seats, tablets, and other gifts to help the children, WGRZ reported.

Rayshionna Johnson, 23, was killed Sept. 19 along with four other people during a street party in Buffalo, WKBW reported. She was the mother of the three toddlers, twin 2-year-olds, a boy and girl, and a 1-year-old girl. A $7,500 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the people involved, WGRZ reported.

Roberson, a family friend, stepped up and adopted the children.

“Rayshionna asked me to take her kids and that’s what I intend to do,” Roberson told WKBW. “I never in a million years thought this would happen.”

She showed up to the car dealership Friday thinking they had put together a donation of clothes. Instead, she was given the vehicle, which is large enough to fit her family. She was shocked.

“I’d have to call my friends and say, ‘OK you take this one, I’ll take these two,’” Roberson said. “This will be such a relief.”
