BOZEMAN, Mont. — Firefighters in Montana used the jaws of life to free a curious dog who had gotten his head stuck in a steel wheel rim.
The pet’s owner brought in the dog with the steel rim around its neck, to the surprise of the firefighters at Bozeman Fire house 1.
“It was time for our skills to be tested,” the agency said on social media. “Utilizing lots of experience and Hurst Jaws of Life extrication tools, Engine 1 C shift worked as a team with the owners to safely cut and spread the steel wheel away from this dog’s neck safely.”
The dog’s name and current condition were not released.
“It’s a point of appreciation when a property owner isn’t sure what to do and knows one place that can always help,” Bozeman Fire said.
