Hartsville police said Angel Luis Masdev went to the drive through at South State Bank in a blue taxicab and placed a note in the tube demanding money or else he would kill people and blow up the bank within two minutes, WMBF reported.

Police arrived to find Masdev in the passenger seat of a blue minivan parked in the middle lane. The taxi driver was also in the vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle with weapons drawn and took Masdev into custody.

Investigators said Masdev also had the taxi driver stop at a Dollar General so he could buy envelopes before they went to the bank, WPDE reported.

Masdev was arrested and charged with entering a bank with the intent to steal, attempted bank robbery and wearing masks, according to arrest records. He was in jail without bail.
