Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who exaggerated claims of being robbed while competing in the Summer Olympics in Brazil last month, has received a 10-month suspension from competition, and will not be allowed to participate in the 2017 world championship meet.
The United States Olympic Committee and US Swimming announced the joint decision Thursday after terms of the punishment leaked out Wednesday evening on social media.
