Tristan Alfano | Honoree for March 8th, 2024

Police Officer Tristan Alfano was hired by the Nassau County Police Department in December of 2020. He was assigned to the 1st Precinct in June of 2021 where he is currently still employed in a plainclothes capacity. Tristan became a nationwide video sensation when he responded to a shots fired call in North Belmore where he encountered an individual waving a gun in an intersection, putting the public and other officers at risk. Officer Alfano made the swift decision to use his police car to knock over the armed individual and disarm the situation. This brave action prevented the possible loss of life of fellow officers and of the civilians at the scene. Officer Alfano has proven that even though he has had a short time in law enforcement, he is wise beyond his years. Tristan is being honored by The Nassau PBA as a 2023 Top Cop.
